q&a

this is how we do

Information

How is the food transported and prepared for the event?

Our produce is transported in insulated cold boxes or a cool room if it is a large event so the produce arrives nice and fresh.

What time will the staff need access to the site?

Depending on the size of your event and what theme you have got for your event will depend on the time we will need to begin setting up. We may require access up to 2 hours prior for some events. We can also wait the event if need be (discuss with us).

How long will the food be out prior to my event starting?

Cheese and meats will be placed out 30min prior to the start of your event. Dry goods may be placed earlier. A time sheet will be filled out and signed by both us & the host, alongside some food-safe info for the host to keep.

Where are your products sourced?

The produce that we source for our grazing stations is predominantly purchased locally from the Port Fairy area. We try to include produce from local dairy’s, fruit growers and honey makers. We also choose to hand-make some of our dips & treats. The local Port Fairy IGA supplies a large range of our dried goods. Sometimes it is not possible to find everything we need locally and we do need to out-source some specialty items.

What is the payment process?

Once receiving your final quote/order we require an upfront deposit of 30% to secure your date, the balance will be due 5 days prior to your special event.

You say your product is “bespoke”, am I able to pick and choose the products on the board I purchase?

At ‘Platters On Point’ we understand that everybody’s tastes and opinions are different. In our initial meeting/planning discussions with you we can show you previous boards we have designed and you can give us an idea of what you may desire specifically for your event. Certain foods may be seasonal and supply isn't always available. We are able to try source any special items you may be looking for and style to suit the final masterpiece you have envisioned. Please feel free to send to us/show us any ideas you might have!

How much notice do I need to give you prior to my event?

It's ideal to book your spot as soon as you can, so you don't miss out on your requested date. However, we do understand that last minute events can appear out of nowhere. In order for your grazing station to be exactly what you want, we suggest getting in contact ASAP. Depending on your event type and size and our availability depends on when you should book with us. We always suggest that as soon as you know the date for your event you should make contact with us and book it in.

Do you cater to vegetarians or vegans?

We understand that everyone has different beliefs and intolerances. If you inform us of your dietary requirements, we can source many beautiful olives, marinated vegetables, legumes and organic breads for your event, or we can have our chef create something to suit. We can try cater to most any dietary preferences.

Do you offer any other types of catering options?

While we specialize predominantly in Grazing Stations & Platters we can also offer a wide range of other options. We have our own ‘Platter’s On Point’ Chef’s available with a wealth of foodie knowledge and a vast background in their field. We can provide a range dessert selections & petit fours, savory canapes, beautiful cakes, ploughman’s lunch spreads, carvery stations, wedding favors, high teas & home-made condiments etc. We have no boundaries, so please just ask if you require something a little unique & special. We can also make a range of iced teas, punches & cold drinks & set up a hot drinks station with different Tea’s & Nespresso coffee.
